Advice for setup of digital files?

  • The easiest way is to just create a grayscale file.
  • For multiple inks, you can use “layers” in Adobe software, Procreate, Canva, etc. Keep each in grayscale, 1 for each ink color, and export the layers separately.
  • For color photographs, you can use Spectrolite software (mac only) to separate for Riso inks.
  • Follow the tips below:
Leave a 0.25" margin on all edges. Avoid too much ink at the top. Colors print on top of each other (don't print light over dark). Send grayscale files - the color comes from whatever ink you choose!

Confused? Don’t worry, we’ll cover all this during the workshop.
